Grants and Donations

GRANTS

Subject to annual review Hawarden Community Council provides funding support to local groups and organisations. The purpose of the application must comply with prevailing local government legislation and provide direct benefit to some or all of the inhabitants of the area.

The Council cannot make grants to individuals.

Applications must be made on the Council's Grant Application form and Grants Scheme which can be obtained from the Community Council Office or by clicking the links.

Applicants must complete all sections of the application form and enclose a copy of the previous financial year's audited accounts and copies of up to date bank and building society statements for all accounts held by the group/organisation.

Applications are considered by the Council's Finance Committee in March and November.

Successful Small Grants Scheme Applications 2024

The following Community Organisations were rewarded a Grant:

  •  The Donkey Sanctuary were awarded £300 to go towards mud mats
  •  Mancot Library were awarded £200 to go towards new books
  • Hawarden Strollers were awarded £500 to go towards a defibrillator 
  • Friends of Penarlag were awarded £500 to go towards equipment for play time and a litter bin
  • Hawarden Girls and Ladies Football Club were awarded £260 to go towards platforms to help promote the club
