Volunteer Awards 2021

The Council wanted to award COVID-19 volunteers who had provided exemplary support during the pandemic. Councillor Helen Brown, the Chair of Hawarden Community Council, assisted by the Vice Chair, Councillor Ralph Small and the Clerk and Financial Officer, Sharron Jones, presented local residents with their awards during a socially distanced presentation event.

Covid-19 Volunteers 2020

The Council wanted to award COVID-19 volunteers who had provided exemplary support during the pandemic. On Thursday 17th September 2020, Councillor George Hardcastle, the Chair of Hawarden Community Council, assisted by the Vice Chair, Councillor Helen Brown and the Clerk and Financial Officer, Sharron Jones, presented three local residents with their awards at their homes during a socially distanced presentation event.

A presentation evening for the 2019 Community Volunteer Awards was held on Monday 13th May at Scout Headquarters, Gladstone Playing Fields. Pictured below are recipients of the awards with Councillor George Hardcastle, Chair of Hawarden Community Council 2019/20.

Presentations were made to from left to right, Audrey Freeman, services to Hawarden WI and other community organisations; Catherine Cooper, services to Ewloe Over 50s; Flt. Lt. David Horabin, services to No. 2247 (Hawarden) Squadron Air Training Corps; Sid Garston, services to Hawarden Rangers FC; Philip Houghton, services to 1st Hawarden Scout Group.
