Community Volunteer Award

A presentation evening for the 2023 Community Volunteer Awards was held on Monday 15th May at Scout Headquarters, Gladstone Playing Fields. Pictured below are recipients of the awards with Councillor Janet Axworthy, Chair of Hawarden Community Council 2023/24.

The Council wanted to award COVID-19 volunteers who had provided exemplary support during the pandemic. Councillor Helen Brown, the Chair of Hawarden Community Council, assisted by the Vice Chair, Councillor Ralph Small and the Clerk and Financial Officer, Sharron Jones, presented local residents with their awards during a socially distanced presentation event.

On Thursday 17th September 2020, Councillor George Hardcastle, the Chair of Hawarden Community Council, assisted by the Vice Chair, Councillor Helen Brown and the Clerk and Financial Officer, Sharron Jones, presented three local residents with their awards at their homes during a socially distanced presentation event.
